Accessibility Statement
We want everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use our website and service. We do this on our own initiative, out of a belief in equal opportunity and rights for everyone, and we work to bring the site, as far as possible, in line with international accessibility guidelines.
The standard we aim for
We work to bring the site in line with the W3C's WCAG 2.1 guidelines, at level AA.
What has been done on the site
- A semantic page structure: marked regions (header, main content, footer), headings in a logical order, and a "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page.
- The whole site can be used with the keyboard alone, including uploading a file, starting the camera, opening and closing questions, and downloading the result. The keyboard position is marked with a clear outline.
- Every image has a text alternative. The example images are screenshots of documents, and the description says what each one shows.
- Progress messages are announced to screen readers, and error messages appear as alerts.
- Colour contrast between text and background in both light and dark mode, and the page language and writing direction are set. Passages in another language are marked.
- The page can be enlarged in the browser, and the design fits small and large screens. The site respects the operating system's reduced-motion setting.
- An accessibility menu in the corner of the screen: larger and smaller text, high contrast, underlined links and a simple font. Your choice is kept in your browser only.
Known limitations
- The files the service produces (Word and Excel) are a copy of the document you uploaded. Their accessibility, for example marked headings and image descriptions, depends on the original document, and we do not add it.
- The example images show documents as they are: the text inside them cannot be read by a screen reader, so each image has a short description.
